Saturday Market – Whole Foods

Sometimes you want to dress up for a weekend adventure, other times you just want to put on something comfy, embrace your favorite boho chic outfit and go food shopping.

While our original plans were to go to the Fort Mill Farmers Market (we drove by, nothing to see there yet) we decided to head up to Whole Foods.

First order of business. Must have flowers.

Sometimes you have to make your own sunshine, especially when you've had over two weeks of rain.
Sometimes you have to make your own sunshine, especially when you’ve had over two weeks of rain.

This ‘happy’ bouquet had sunflowers, white hydrangea, lavender, lemon leaves, etc. No matter how dreary a day may be (and they are pretty gloomy in the Carolinas these days) a sunflower will make you smile whether you want to or not.

Next order of bussiness… must purchase pearl couscous, fresh Turkish figs, mango nectarines (ever heard of those?) Almond Butter, learn about goat and sheep cheeses from a very knowledgable cheese guy, pick up herb garden artisan crackers, while contemplating between cinnamon chocolate and orange chocolate (we got both) before giving our starving stomachs some sustenance.

Never wait till you are too hungry to see straight to get your lunch in Whole Foods. Your plate will resemble Mount Everest by the time you are through, and your credit card will slap you in the face repeatedly.

Peach Izze (way too sweet) for me, and Berry White Tea for mum.

Case in point.
Case in point. I think I covered all the basic food groups don’t you?

Our stomachs satisfied, it was time to check out and head home… Our mission for goat cheese ended with different varieties of goat cheese.

Olives, fig & chocolate jam, Orange and Cinnamon chocolate, mozzarella, and The Naked Goat cheese, Goat cheese crumbles...

The gang all together...
