This past weekend, I tried my first Mango Nectarine. I know what you might be thinking, there’s no such thing as a Mango Nectarine. I might have thought the same thing if I hadn’t tried one for myself!
This weekend also marked my first time slicing a stone fruit, since I learned all about knife skills at Whole Foods. So, I thought… why not do a how to?
First, lets start with a few interesting facts about Mango Nectarines…
- Mango Nectarines have a similar shape to a plum, with a singular groove running to fruits stem.
- Flesh is a deep yellow, similar to that of your everyday nectarine.
- At first it tastes very much like a mango, with the sweet finish of a nectarine. (It tasted better than candy to me!)
Well, there you have it, an simple easy way of slicing those stubborn stone fruits.
Next: The next fruit on my list to try. PLUOTS!
