Day after Christmas Breakfast: Original Pancake House

So, every year the day after Christmas, my grandfather, sister and I head up to to the South Park area to the Original Pancake House. (No, that’s not IHOP… they couldn’t even compare in this kind of deliciousness.)

When we got there, it was absolutely packed, so we had no choice but to wait in the crowded front waiting room, by the door which let freezing air in every time someone came in to inquire just how long the wait would be. We weren’t exactly surprised to find the place was busy, one it was the day after Christmas, which meant the sales were going at South Park Mall across the street, and two the food there is epically good.

About a half hour or so later, we finally got to the table, and it was time for the picture. This one turned out a little better than usual. I’m unfortunately one of those people who don’t look they way they do in real life in a photograph.

I decided to break away from the usual eggs and pancakes, and switch to the blueberry pancakes instead.

Blueberry, yummy!
Blueberry, yummy!

My sister went with a specialty they were offering, Banana Nut Pancakes, while my grandfather went with his standard ham and cheese omelet with a side of pancakes… because sometimes breaking with tradition is just not done.

Another delicious day after Christmas breakfast. Time to start thinking about what I’m going to get next year.
