So, the day after Independence Day we headed up to our first Davidson Farmers Market visit of the summer. It felt like we hadn’t been there in forever, and the weather couldn’t have been more perfect. I have to say, after all the warm weather and extreme humidity (living in the south here!) an unseasonably cool day was absolutely AMAZING!
First things first we checked out all the gorgeous produce and I spotted some gorgeous baked poached pears (you’ll see this later in the most.)
Before we decided what we wanted to do for lunch, we walked over to the Millstone Bakehouse to get a beverage and consider our options.
Did you know that you can rent Picnic Baskets? Say you wanted to enjoy a picnic after the farmers market, or wanted a packed basket for one of the Concerts on the Green… Well, Millstone Bakehouse is the place to go.
Last time we arrived at the market too early (Pickled Peach opens @ 11a on Saturdays.) So, we decided to give it a try for lunch.
Mum and I ended up ordering the same sandwich. It was the obvious choice… Turkey and Avocado…
Now, time to head home with our produce and desserts…
Hope you enjoyed hearing about our trip to Davidson and are inspired to visit both the town and the Farmers Market. (It’s open every Saturday from 8-12.)
