Heart of the Home Kitchen Tour|2014

October 18th, 2014

I heard about this kitchen tour on the radio a few weeks prior to the event, and immediately knew that I had to go. I mean a kitchen tour? I’m so there!

To start off our day, we headed Uptown for some Crepes at Hazlenuts Creperie.

Little did we know they had blocked off the section of road in front of and surrounding Hazelnuts. So we found a parking garage and started walking. Not the best idea in high heeled boots, but breakfast was a necessity.

I went with my typical choice and mum gave the Santorini a try… alas Feta in a crepe for breakfast is not necessarily a good idea.

On the walk back we stopped at the uptown Starbucks. I’ve always wanted to give it a try and I was in serious need of a beverage!

See all the food tents lining the street? Talk about the smell of bacon and bbq. Not this foodie's thing!

Of course our drink's needed a 'selfie' on the way back. Passion Tango Iced Tea for me and a Chai Tea Latte for mum.

Had to snap a picture of this guy on the way back. Two lions flank the entrance to The Capitol Grille.

Now onto the Kitchen Tour…

While we couldn’t take pictures in the houses, I was able to snap pictures here and there along the tour of the foodie treats they had at the houses.

After driving and walking around 8 kitchens, we were more than ready for some lunch. So, we headed over to the Dean & Deluca across from South Park.

Just one stop left on our culinary day… Pasta and Provisions. Our favorite Italian market.

What did we walk away with? Fresh Basil Pasta, Garlic Parsley Pasta (both cut linguini style) and a tub of the 12 Meatballs in Marinara Sauce.

Until next time…
