Foodie’s Day Out…

We haven’t been to the Davidson Farmer’s Market this year, so we decided to head up there on Saturday and check it out. The first thing we noticed was the crowd. You may not be able to tell from this picture but once you got into the market itself, it was wall to wall people and there was no such thing as personal space!

When I saw this Kimchi booth, my little Kdrama loving self couldn’t help but grin. While I’m not brave enough to try it yet, I was happy to see some more international culinary options.

Time to check out the veggies… There were quite a lot of vegetables to be had throughout the market, but alas our search for radishes turned up nothing.

Since we had bruschetta on the mind for dinner… we were in search of the goat cheese booth… and we found it.

These jars are filled with all sorts of yumminess.

Now for some bread…

And a new food truck we hadn’t seen there before… Bleu Barn Bistro…

… however we had our hearts set on Mexican food after I spotted the new restaurant in town… Mestizo.

I knew exactly what I wanted before even set food through the door thanks to the menu posted outside!

Since the weather was absolutely gorgeous, we opted for outside seating…

We had the Chicken Torta times two. Delicious!

After lunch we headed over to the Birkdale shopping area to pick up some Garlic Olive Oil from Isabella’s and we made another culinary discovery…

The name says it all.

Ooh... yummy!

You can have your cakes wrapped up with a bow and a flower so we decided to have our Lemon and White Chocolate Raspberry bundt cakes wrapped up…
