White Nectarine, Chèvre Mozzarella Pizza with Fresh Basil

I just love the fresh produce that comes with the summer season, and I’ve been dying to try my hand and making some fresh pizzas using white nectarines.

For this pizza you’ll need:

  • White Nectarines
  • Sliced Ham
  • Chèvre Mozzarella
  • Fresh Basil
All washed up and ready to begin.

We used fresh pizza dough, but since our oven only gets so toasty, I'm thinking the next time we'll go with our standard naan bread for the base.

When you’re using fresh pizza dough, be sure to fork evenly so your dough won’t bubble white you’re pre-baking it. Depending on your elevation and how hot your oven goes you can bake your pizza crust for 5-15 minutes. (Our oven only goes up 500F.)

If you don’t have access to white nectarines, I also love white peaches, or regular peaches…

We used low-salt ham to keep our sodium intake down, but you can also use diced ham or pancetta.

Note: You might want to wait to add the basil until after you’ve baked your pizza for the final 15-20 minutes. We ended up removing the cooked basil and adding fresh after our pizza was out of the oven.

Delicious and ready to enjoy.
