Fig & Fontina Pizza | Plated

This was actually a Proscuitto and Fig Pizza, but we had to do some switching up, because while I adore proscuitto, this particular one that was included in the box was rubbed with red chili pepper which is not my friend… But recipes are just suggestions, right?

Items in the box…

  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1/4 cup balsamic vinegar
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 2 oz dried mission figs
  • 1 lemon
  • 3 tbsp flour
  • 1 lb pizza dough
  • 8 oz whole milk
  • 1 cheese mix (fontina and pecorino)
  • 1 1/2 oz arugula
  • 3 oz proscuitto piccante
  • 1 parchment paper

I prepared the figs...
I quartered the figs…
... and 'whipped' up the balsamic glaze which we chose to make optional.

We made half with regular cheeses that were included in the box, and the other half with goat cheese for me.

After our pizza was out of the oven, we sliced it up and topped it with the fresh arugula.
